August Wellness Class features the Survival Mom

August Ahwatukee Wellness Class Explores the Wonders of Dehydrated Foods

Every month an Ahwatukee “Health & Wellness” education class is organized which highlights local wellness experts. The next class will occur on August 21st from 10 am to 11:30 pm at Emerald City Smoothies, 4206 East Chandler Boulevard, Ste. 9, Phoenix, 85048.

The guest presenter is Lisa Bedford, the Survival Mom, known Nationally for her survival tips relating to food storage, preparedness, emergency storage and more. Lisa plans to speak and educate the class on food dehydration matters.

Food dehydration is an ideal way to preserve healthy produce at the peak of its flavor and enjoy it year round.   This class teaches simple dehydration methods including dehydrating frozen and canned foods, making fruit leather, and even suggestions for putting together your own dehydrated dinners, just like Mountain House!  This class is perfect for anyone interested in food storage, campers, backpackers, and anyone else who enjoys combining good food with the great outdoors.

Every month the class also explores a group discussion relating to whole food nutrition.

Drinks will be provided.  RSVP is appreciated due to limited seating. Go to  or call me the wellness class organizer, Christine Marek at 480-491-9551.
