SunBars and the HCG diet

Today Colleen sent me an email from Sunrider fan 6.19.11

Both women are wonderful Sunrider’s.  The fan appeared not happy with my blog regarding the fact that my HCG doctor  urged me not to eat them. Note: This is not because the SunBars are bad for you or bad to diet with.

Dear Sunrider fan, I didn’t like the dr’s advice either. I love those SunBars!!! They are only 120 calories and 2 grams of sugar. It’s just one more part of the HCG that I don’t like.

These SunBars are so nutritious and so wonderful how could they not help you.

But for some reason the HCG diet with my doctors advice thought it not best.

Her reasons, too many complex carbs and the wrong fruits for the HCG diet.

The Fortune Delight, the NuPlus, the Calli and Quinary continue to jell so well with the diet, as per Dr. Whelchel’s supervision. Maybe other doctors will disagree. I’d love to know what others think.

Happy Sunday,

HCG + Sunrider= Success? Week Two

This Blog Post is a continued series of articles about Christine Marek’s  journey on the HCG Diet- June 2011. She hopes these posts help others to be able to enjoy the Sunrider nutrition and benefits during the HGC diet process.

I write this post on Thursday night, day 13, week 2  of my HCG diet. My weight loss at this point is 6 pounds.

Last night, I must confess I broke down and ate one slice of sourdough bread with peanut butter on it. And I didn’t stop there. I then ate two hershey chocolate kisses.

Hey! I felt so much better and today I feel fine and I’m not craving those two items.  I WILL be strong.

The Sunrider teas and foods are helping me feel better with such a low caloric intake. And so is the Emergence-C Lite. Dr. Becky Whelchel discouraged me from eating the Sunrider SunBars between meals because they had carbs not wanted on the diet and also fruits not recommended on the diet.  So I’m back eating apples.

It  made me sad to see the SunBars go. I love the nutrition, taste and fiber they offer with 2 grams of sugar and little fat.

Now if I had continued to loose weight she would have let me keep them but I am now at a stand still. My weight has been at 118 for four days. See what little cheating can do.

With 11 more days to go and 4 – 6 pounds left to shed to reach my goal I must be strong. Thank goodness my family and friends are helping me. My friend Cathy is joining me this week and others who have accomplished their goals are rooting me on.

Am I grumpy at times? Yes! Light headed? Yes Easily distracted.. huh?

At least my achy legs and headaches have subsided.

Now I need to poop. Its been three days and I don’t like that at all. I took three Sunrider slim caps today with my dinner. They work wonderfully for me regarding this constipation issue. It’s better than Surnider’s Fibertone and since I can’t have the SunBars I need to add something.

Will all this be worth it? Yes!

I will be leaner.

I will be detoxified.

And I believe I’ll be enjoying more Sunrider with weight maintenance when the total 24 days are over.

Goals in sight,

Christine Marek

Day 3- Week 1 of HCG with Sunrider- Results

This Blog Post is a continued series of articles about Christine Marek’s  journey on the HCG Diet- June 2011.

Now I begin three weeks on a 500 calorie limit intake for the day. Can I do this? I’m not sure. But my husband Ron seems to be doing it just fine for the past two weeks and feeling OK so here I go.

When I awake I weigh myself right after I urinate. Then I take a shot in the belly of HCG. Calli tea is my breakfast along with 3 capsules of Quinary. Thank goodness!  I drink a quart (4 cups or 32 oz) of Calli tea. I also excercise for 30 minutes, walking and weight lifting, plus some cardio on the versa climber. Nothing too strenous.

So begins my mornings for the next 3 weeks.

Oh, I miss my ezekiel raisin bread and later a NuPlus fruit smoothy. But for three days I must stay away from even the NuPlus.

Day 6, that morning I mix plain NuPlus in my 16 oz of Sunrider tea shaker at @ 10 am in the morning. Oh, this makes my body feel better. It’s been hard to concentrate and my energy is very low with only 500 calories.

Week 1 for lunch & dinner  I have these foods:

  • Grilled Chicken
  • Sashimi Fish- salmon & tuna (I’m not suppose to have Salmon.. too fatty)
  • Cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, scallions, lettuce
  • Vinegar for salad dressing
  • Dill weed and Celery Salt for spices on my salad and meat
  • Steak
  • Meatballs.. was at an Italian Restaurant Ribbon Cutting!
  • Miso Soup
  • Strawberries
  • Fortune Delight Peach tea. Dr. Becky says I should really just drink lemon or Raspberry or plain.  But I love my peach.

Week 1 I lost 4 lbs. Yahoo!

I am glad to loose the weight and to detox from the bad foods.

The detox I notice fatique, irratibility, headaches (minor), leg cramps.

Dr. Becky Whelchel gives me a B12 shot after the 1st week and examines what I eat and how I feel and exercise. All is going well.  I must include Emergence- C Lite at least two times during the day to help with the energy and cramping. I usually only get this in once a day.

It’s all not very severe, the symptoms, but annoying at times.

I also added Evergreen from Sunrider into my diet during the late afternoon, once this week. Oh that was so good and my body thanked me!

Striving for a goal,

What will I learn about HCG and Sunrider Foods?

This Blog Post is a continued series of articles about Christine Marek’s  journey on the HCG Diet- June 2011.

Many people have approached me with questions about HCG dieting. This made me extremely curious about it’s effectiveness and safety for our bodies.  In order to understand it more completely I have decided to experience the HCG diet first hand.  So begins my journal recording my personal findings regarding this matter and how HCG diets can work with the wonderful Sunrider foods.  I’ve heard from others the combination is a perfect match.  Let’s see!

I’d like to loose 10 poudns for a pink poka dot bikini. Can I loose the last 10?
